Zusammenfassung

Unter xenogener Transplantation versteht man die Übertragung von Geweben und Organen zwischen Individuen unterschiedlicher Tierarten. Diese Möglichkeit eröffnet ein nahezu unübersehbares Spektrum von Spender-Empfänger-Kombinationen. Allerdings wäre es die Arbeit von Generationen, alle in Frage kommenden Kombinationen auf den Grad der jeweiligen Verträglichkeit bzw. Unverträglichkeit und der dabei beteiligten immunologischen Faktoren experimentell zu analysieren. Deshalb wurden die Studien an Tiermodellen mit klar definierter zoologischer Disparität durchgeführt, die es ihrerseits erlauben, Analogieschlüsse auf andere Spender-Empfänger-Kombinationen zu ziehen, auch auf solche, bei denen der Mensch der Organempfänger ist.
