Abstract
Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry is currently the most commonly used modality for the diagnosis of osteoprosis, allowing fast, accurate, and noninvasive measurements of bone mineral density. In this review we discuss the principles, applications, advantages, and limitations of this diagnostic technique.
