On the renormalizable approximations in field theory

Summary

In the present paper a method to construct approximations to a renormalizable field theory is presented. The obtained approximations preserve the renormalizability character of the complete theory and therefore can be advantageously used to study the properties of the renormalization group. For the sake of simplicity, we refer to the self-coupled neutral-boson-field theory with the interaction Lagrangian ℒI= 4.

This explains the difference between the Nozières’s equations (3.42), (3.43) and our equation (2).
