Zusammenfassung

Die Lehre von den Erkrankungen des Enddarms gehört zu den ältesten Zweigen der Medizin. Aus allen frühen Kulturen sind Berichte oder Darstellungen über Erkrankungen und Behandlungsmaßnahmen am Anus überliefert. Für den hohen Stellenwert dieser Leiden mag stehen, daß im pharaonischen Ägypten großzügige Belohnung für erfolgreiche Behandlungen ausgesetzt wurden.
