Abstract

The effect of surface activation of glass and phenolic microspheres with various gas discharges on the mechanical behavior of formulations based on a dimethylmethylphenylpolysiloxane elastomer has been studied. It has been demonstrated that mechanisms controlling the effect of gas discharge on the surface of fillers of various chemical natures are identical. An increase in the surface energy of the fillers leads to strengthening of interaction between the polymer base and the filler surface and to improvement of mechanical properties.
