Efficiency of ion deviation by bent carbon nanotubes

Abstract

The channeling of ions in bent carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has been studied. Simple analytical expressions for the critical parameter of channeling, the dechanneling length, and the efficiency of ion beam deviation by bent CNTs are obtained. It is shown that CNTs can be successfully used for managing sharply focused ion beams with nanometer cross sections.
