The application of regularization method for X-ray photoelectron spectra processing in the structural analysis of quartz

Abstract

A mathematical algorithm for deconvolution of experimental X-ray electron spectra using the basic equation of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy specified by Fredholm integral equation of the first kind was suggested. The instrumental function of energy analyzer represented by hemispherical deflector of an ES-2401 spectrometer was defined explicitly. Modeling of Si2p and O1s spectra allowed a mathematical processing of experimental Si2p and O1s spectra of crystalline and vitreous quartz. The contribution from low-membered silicon-oxygen structural units of vitreous quartz was determined.
