Cascade electrolysis and thermocatalysis: a reliable system for upgrading C1 to C4 hydrocarbons

摘要

碳循环对维持地球上气候的稳定和碳平衡十分重要。基于可再生电能,将二氧化碳(CO2)升级为高价值的多碳分子不仅可以降低温室气体排放,而且可以实现化学品和燃料的生产。目前,虽然单独的电化学体系在C1/C2产物的生产进步明显,但是针对长碳链产物的高效合成仍然是一个巨大的挑战。近日,Lee教授等[1]在Nature catalysis杂志上报道了级联电催化和热催化体系,实现C1-C2-C4过程的有效转化。鉴于级联体系在CO2还原至多碳产物的重要作用,我们对该工作的催化剂设计及反应路径优化进行重点解读。
