A method was developed for the synthesis of triacyloxycyclopentadienylzirconiums by the action of carboxylic acids (acetic, valeric, and heptanoic) on dicyclopentadienylzirconium dichloride. By an exchange reaction between cyclopentadienylzirconium triacetate and benzoic acid, cyclopentadienylzirconium tribenzoate was prepared.

By the reaction of trifluoroacetic acid with dicyclopentadienylzirconium dichloride, dicyclopentadienylzirconium bistrifluoroacetate was prepared.

Acetoxycyclopentadienylzirconium bisacetylacetonate was synthesized by the action of acetylacetone on cyclopentadienylzirconium triacetate.
