Groups, Geometry, and Dynamics: a celebration of Francois Labourie's 60th birthday

Submission to this special issue is by invitation only.

The role of infinite discrete subgroups of Lie groups originated in Fuchsian equations and in crystallographic groups, and gradually grew as its arithmetical, ergodic, dynamical, and geometrical aspects developed over the years. The objective of the conference was to present new and results, obtained in the last 2-3 years, involving the dynamical and geometrical facets of those groups, as well as relations to mathematical physics. This includes a systematic investigation of the generalization of Fuchsian groups, the study of the advanced structure of their moduli space coming from the thermodynamic formalism as well as the intertwinings of geometrical and analytical properties of space-times with their infinity. Francois Labourie has played a central role in these developments, and the conference celebrated his contributions on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
