Abstract
We have examined the growth rates of (001) and (010) faces of SbS3 single crystals as functions of temperature under hydrothermal conditions, and also in relation to compositions and concentration of the solvent (NH4C1, NH4Br, Na2S) at constant temperature difference of 20°C. The autoclaves were of batch type and lined with titanium. The temperature was 350–450°C, and the pressure was 600–1500 atm, with runs lasting from 24 to 120 hours. The initial mixture consisted of elemental sulfur, antimony, and reagent-grade Sb2S3 of especial purity.
