Sir,
We thank Dr. Oestreich for his comments regarding recent publication in Pediatric Radiology [1, 2]. We are in complete agreement with him regarding the age range of visualization of the metaphyseal collar in normal children. We are particularly impressed that Dr. Oestreich actually received his information directly from the source, Professor Laval-Jeantet. We also thank Dr. Oestreich for laying the important foundation for our studies since a grasp of the anatomy of the subperiosteal bone collar is a prerequisite to understanding the morphology and the biomechanics of the classic metaphyseal lesion.
