  • Published:
Histochemie Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The fine structure and histochemistry of the mucous glands (neutral and acid mucous) is described; two types of serous glands and rhabdoite cells of the wall are also demonstrated.

The existence of intermediate forms allows to reduce the number of cell types to two main types: mucous cells and serous cells. The morphological and histochemical differences within the two categories are subject to the physiological state of the cell.
