The influence of the degree of twist of polyester sewing threads on their deformation properties is investigated. Technological recommendations are offered on variation of the degree of twist for getting the desired deformation characteristics of these threads.

Thus, the highest magnitude of force in sewing threads, which operates during stitch tightening, causes deformation, the value of which lies at the end of section II of the tensile-test diagram, i.e., the thread is submitted to maximum loads in this case.
