Macroporous Films Based on the L-Cysteine/AgNO3/PVA Supramolecular System

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

The structures of films based on L-cysteine, AgNO3, and poly(vinyl alcohol) were studied by IR and UV spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, scanning electron microscopy, and elemental analysis. The molecular structure from which the three-dimensional gel-network was formed was found to be retained on going from a hydrogel to a film. The synthesized films were characterized by a macroporous structure. The Ag was uniformly distributed on the film surface and throughout its bulk.
