Video Transcript
We did our markings first. So this is the line along which we will be cutting the duodenum.
We decided to open up the duodenum with the harmonic scalpel in order to avoid any kind of bleeding. Once we opened up the duodenum, there was lot of food residue and presence of bite, which started spilling out. And we controlled that with suction and aspiration. There’s the bite coming out. The bile was sucked out.
And once the duodenotomy was wide enough, we started seeing the web. So here, this part of the video shows you the active duodenal peristalsis, which was present even while we were operating. I’ll show this to you in a fast motion so that you can appreciate. There you go; that’s the duodenal peristalsis. It was actively present during the entire procedure.
So this is the web, which has now started showing up. You can see that it’s looking like a diaphragm.
