About this book

Disability is a human experience that most of us will encounter, either directly (i.e., being born disabled or acquiring a disability via injury) or indirectly (i.e., knowing someone with a disability). The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Disability provides the most comprehensive and contemporary research from leading international scholars about specific disabilities and how our understanding of these disabilities is shaped by historical, social, legal, religious, economic, geopolitical, and cultural factors. Offering multidisciplinary insights and analysis, this encyclopedia is an authoritative guide intended for scholars and students from different medical and allied health disciplines. It is also of benefit to those who develop health policies, medical doctors, psychologists, allied health professionals, legal experts etc.
