Abstract

This entry provides an overview of autistic space, space that is designed by and for autistic people. It sketches the history of the concept of “autistic space” and its relation to the autistic self-advocacy and neurodiversity movements, describes some common features of autistic spaces, and reflects on the importance of autistic space for autistic people, both individually and collectively.
