Abstract

Mixtures of water-dispersible isocyanate and polyol-terminated oligomers were blended with methacrylate-terminated urethanes and a water-dispersible photoinitiator to accelerate the dry time of thin polymer films. Thermomechanical properties of the polyurethane blends were measured using dynamic mechanical analysis. Kinetics of the ultraviolet-initiated radical polymerization reaction and the polyol/isocyanate addition reaction were monitored using attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
