Structural studies of fractured carbon-fiber composite surfaces before and after its use for one year were presented. The carbon-fiber composite was prepared from high-modulus carbon fiber and an epoxide binder and was used as a sensor for monitoring the technical condition of crane construction elements. The principal types of damage were classified based on the results.
