Abstract
During the last years evidence has been provided that the axoplasmic flow, described at first by Weiss and Hiscoe (1948) in myelinated nerves, also occurs in unmyelinated adrenergic axons. Particular interest has been paid to the axoplasmic transport of amine storage granules, since these particles appear essential for a normal function of the adrenergic nerves (cf. Iversen, 1967; Andén et al., 1969; Häggendal and Malmfors, 1969).
