Zusammenfassung
Das Kapitel Gelassener Umgang mit eigenen Emotionen ist zentral für das Verständnis der stoischen Lehre zur Entstehung und dem Umgang mit Emotionen (Affektlehre). Ich beschreibe hierin die stoischen Annahmen zum Umgang mit Emotionen und gleiche sie mit der modernen Forschung zur Emotionsregulation ab. Anschließend diskutiere ich den Umgang mit Widrigkeiten und Emotionen wie Angst, Trauer, Schuld und Wut.
Wie angenehm ist es, die Leidenschaften müde gemacht und hinter sich gelassen zu haben! (Seneca, Briefe, 1.12.5)
