Zusammenfassung

Gastroenterologische Symptome sind häufig in der pädiatrischen Palliativversorgung und werden oft als sehr leidvoll erlebt. So tritt z. B. bei etwa 30–40 % der Kinder und Jugendlichen Obstipation auf, zwischen 65 und 70 % aller Kinder und Jugendlichen mit Krebs leiden in den letzten Lebenswochen unter Symptomen von Nausea und Erbrechen. Die Prävalenz einer Malnutrition bei Kindern mit schweren neurologischen Erkrankungen wird auf etwa 30–50 % geschätzt. Begleitsymptome wie Schmerzen, Appetitverlust und Kachexie erhöhen den Leidensdruck des Kindes und beeinträchtigen seine Lebensqualität. Das Kapitel behandelt die relevantesten gastroenterologischen Symptome und stellt praxiserprobte Therapieansätze vor.
