Zusammenfassung

Mit einer globalen Incidenzquote von 5–37% stellt die Divertikelerkrankung des Colons heute das häufigste Dickdarmleiden dar. Charakteristisch ist die Krankheitszunahme mit fortschreitendem Alter, ferner ihr häufiger Beginn im Sigma mit der Neigung zur Ascension. Wir sehen aber auch den umgekehrten Weg mit Primärbefall des rechten Colons und zunehmend distalem Befall, wie das von Malta, Japan und dem Vorderen Orient berichtet wird [1, 14, 15, 17, 25, 31, 33, 34, 43, 49, 59, 66, 68, 75, 87, 93, 118, 122, 124, 125] (Abb.l).
