Abstract

As the science develops, the knowledge for hemorrhoids has also shown significant development recently. Hemorrhoid was regarded as an abnormal structure of varicose vein before, but it is now regarded as a normal structure that closes the anus to keep continence. It is thought to be a descent of the anal cushion (mucosa and submucosal connective tissue) (Table 6.1).
