Abstract
Die Gesundheitskommunikation gewinnt als Forschungsgegenstand der Kommunikationswissenschaft zunehmend an Relevanz. Zu den umfangreichen Aspekten der Gesundheitskommunikation zählt u. a. die massenmediale Verbreitung von Gesundheitsinformationen. Innerhalb dieses Bereiches lassen sich analog zu den kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Forschungsbereichen – Kommunikator-, Medieninhalts-, Rezeptions- und Wirkungsforschung – verschiedene Forschungsgegenstände identifizieren. Der vorliegende Beitrag konzentriert sich auf den Wirkungsaspekt medialer Gesundheitskommunikation. Er liefert einen grundlegenden Überblick über zentrale Wirkungsdimensionen und Wirkungsarten sowie relevante Botschafts- und Rezipientenmerkmale. Ausführlich werden intendierte (Kommunikationskampagnen) und nicht-intendierte Wirkungen beschrieben. Abschließend geht der Beitrag auf die Relevanz interdisziplinärer Forschung und ethische Fragen der Gesundheitskommunikation ein.
