Abstract
Disease is generally viewed as being a result of various causative factors ranging between bacteria and radiation, poisons and trauma. Although this is true, it must not be forgotten that disease is the product of imbalance between causative and protective factors. The latter include not only host defense mechanisms but also all that mitigates against excessive exposure to noxious elements in the environment.
