Dr. Subham Banerjee, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), Guwahati, Assam, India. He is also a visiting staff faculty of the University of Texas (UT) at Austin, Austin, Texas, USA. In addition, he is also serving as a coordinator cum co-principal investigator of the ‘National Centre of Pharmacoengineering (State-of-the-art-facility)’’ funded under the Drugs Pharmaceuticals Research Programme (DPRP), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Min. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He also served as an Assistant Professor in the same department at NIPER, Guwahati. His research area focuses on Pharmacoengineering including Pharmaceutical additive manufacturing (AM), Drug Delivery Engineering and cutting-edge translational pharmaceutical research.
He is the recipient of several prestigious National and International competitive awards, notably, Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award-2017 from Rashtrapati Bhawan (President Secretariat), New Delhi, India, Innovators Under-35 (2017) from MIT Technology Review, USA, NASI-Swarna Jayanti Puruskar (2020), Prayagraj, India, etc. He also bagged the first prize in 2020 for BIRAC-BRTC Mapping the Change makers of the Northeast Region of India and many other prestigious recognitions, including several extra-mural research funds from various funding bodies in Govt. of India.
He had more than 9.05 years of teaching and research experience. He possesses 03 granted Indian patents, 02 granted Indian design patents, a 3D printed technology derived product transferred to Industry, 09 International book chapters, and has published more than 90 research articles in peer-reviewed National/International journals. He is an active member/associate/fellow of the leading learned scientific society of India & Overseas as well.
