Abstract
The results of the investigations of a ceramic composite sintered from ZrO2-based powders produced by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis have been considered. The scratch tests and microcutting with a single diamond grain have been used to evaluate the strength and deformation properties of surface layers of the resultant composite. The possibility to apply these composites in finishing products of non-ferrous metals has been discussed.
