Applying Polarized Light to the Estimation of Bainitic Fraction in Kh2G2S2MF Steel Grades. Part 2

  • Published:
Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

It has been established that in order to obtain a high-quality image of a surface structure in polarized light with crossed nicols and to accurately quantify the bainitic fraction in Kh2G2S2MF grade structural steel, alongside with the LePera reagent, Nital reagent can be used. It has been established that the brightness level of martensite in polarized light does not depend on the etching time of 22Kh2G2S2MF and 44Kh2G2S2MF grade steel being at the background level.
