Selection of the best metal-heating conditions

Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

A computational and experimental thermophysical method has been developed for studying the operation of industrial furnaces. The method involves measurement of the metal’s surface temperature, mathematical models for calculating the heat transfer, and methods of determining rational heating conditions. The method is intended to minimize the labor required; at furnaces equipped with modern information systems, only a single researcher is needed.
