Abstract
A device is designed for injecting argon into metal melt in the intermediate ladle during casting. The corresponding manufacturing technology is developed. Model tests of gas-permeable inserts for the injection device reveal the optimal design. The resulting capillary structure of the permeable concrete inserts with directional porosity is characterized by high strength and uniformity and permits regulation of the gas permeability by adjusting the number of vaporizing inclusions, their dimensions, and their configuration.
