Effect of pressure on the activity and selectivity of cobalt-zeolite catalysts for the synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H2

Abstract

The effect of pressure (0.5–2.5 MPa) on the synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H2 on Co-zeolite catalysts in a fixed-bed flow reactor was studied. It was found that productivity and selectivity for liquid hydrocarbons increased with pressure, whereas the selectivity of methane formation did not increase. The isoparaffin content of the products of catalysis was inversely proportional to the amount of heavy fractions in the products.
