Abstract

This work examines the current state of and prospects for the development of radio-engineering systems for positioning, navigation, and timing support (PNTS) within the radionavigation plans of the Russian Federation and United States. Special attention is devoted to global navigation satellite systems (GNS-Ses) and systems that augment their functional potential. The problems of modernizing the Chaika/LORAN-C navigation systems with the ground basing of reference stations are discussed.
