Abstract

The sol-gel synthesis of titanium dioxide from titanium glycerolate (TG) and titanyl sulfate was studied. The effect of hydrothermal treatment in an autoclave at 130°C and refluxing TG with the peroxo titanium acid gel on the product properties, i.e., morphology of the nanoparticles and their aggregates, as well as their ability to adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solutions was discussed.
