Abstract
The reaction of 3- and 3,5-substituted salicylic aldehydes containing tert-butyl or 2-phenylpropan-2-yl groups in position 3 with 4-allyloxy-2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroaniline in toluene in the presence of para-toluenesulfonic acid was used to obtain a series of corresponding (N-aryl)salicylaldimines, which form complexes of titanium(IV) dichloride L2TiCl2 upon interaction with TiCl2(OPr-i)2.
