Abstract
The article presents the results of long-term research aimed at solving the problem of elimination of accumulated environmental damage associated with tin ore waste processing. The method of calculation of the hazard class of such wastes allows objective assessment of the negative impact of pollutants on the environment. The research established the composition and the degree of environmental impact of the wastes of the “Solnechnyi GOK” former mining enterprise. The total hazard index (ΣK i ) of the wastes was estimated at 1167.184, and they were assigned hazard class II, which implies a high negative impact on the environment.
