Abstract

In catalytic and sorption processes mineral and carbon-mineral block articles find at present growing application. In the Institute of Problems of Hydrocarbons Processing, Siberian Division, Russian Academy of Sciences, a process was developed for production of blocks of cellular structure containing 99 wt% of carbon with a developed porous structure of adjustable pore volume V Σ = 0.2–0.5 cm3 g−1, specific area ABET = 5–500 m2 g−1, pore radius 4–40 nm, and mechanical strength 40–120 kg cm−2.
