Abstract
Rolling of metallic silver at high degrees of deformation (90%) results in the appearance of a hexagonal close-packed (hcp) phase along with the fcc structure. The heat and radiation resistance of the hcp phase was examined by X-ray phase analysis. The diffusion coefficients of impurity 109Cd atoms in metallic silver were determined. The phase reconstruction of the metal (in the course of annealing of the hcp phase) is accompanied by accelerated migration of impurity 109Cd atoms.
