Abstract
From the equations of motion within the field theory of defects, creep curves are derived and a relationship between the applied stress and the time to rupture under different deformation conditions is obtained. The creep duration as a function of the applied stress and the initial strain rate, as well as the ultimate strain, specifying the material rupture, are found.
