Abstract
PHARMACOLOGICAL screening of a series of guanidines1, formally related to the quaternary ammonium anthelmintic compound bephenium and its congeners2, revealed that B.W. 712C60 [(I), R1 = R2 = phenyl; A = (CH2)2] although devoid of such anthelmintic activity antagonized 5-hydroxytryptamine (5HT).
