Abstract
Elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis should be managed with non-pharmacological interventions (e.g. exercise and weight-loss programmes), with pharmacological agents being used to treat pain if required. Individualized treatment plans should take into account patient preference, comorbidities and mobility. Surgery should be considered only if other interventions fail.
