Abstract

A two-dimensional cyclic water–chloride anionic {[H2O)18(Cl)8]8−}n network has been identified in a ruthenium(II) complex [Ru(bpy)2(tdzp)]2·tdzp·Cl4·9H2O (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, tdzp = [1,2,5]-thiadiazolo-[3,4-f]-[1,10]-phenanthroline). The compound crystallized in monoclinic space group P21/c.
