The reaction of lignosulfonate with aliphatic and aromatic amino acids in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid and thionylchloride was investigated. The kinetics were studied. The thermodynamic parameters of the transition complex in the acylation of lignin in trifluoroacetic acid in the presence of thionylchloride were calculated. The adsorption characteristics of heavy metals on lignosulfonate and chemically modified lignin were compared.
