Abstract

Poly(m-aminobenzoic acid) film is deposited on glassy carbon electrode by electropolymerization at pH 6.0 in phosphate buffer solutions. The electrochemical behavior of the polymer film is characterized by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The effect of the scan rate on the peak current is investigated in the range of 50–200 mV/s, indicating that both the anodic and cathodic peak currents increased with the solution pH until 8 and then decreased. Characteristic absorption features related to benzenoid and quinoid and various types of C–N bonds are analyzed.
