After publication of the research paper Pretzsch et al. (2022) the authors noticed an essential error and wish to make the following corrections. Figure 7 including the caption was wrong in the original version. Here, we present the right version of both Fig. 7 and caption. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the readers by these changes. The changes do not affect the scientific results.
Stem diameter developments and simulated 5-years crown expansion until age 50 are shown for four trees, with crown width, crown length, and top-heaviness decreasing from left to right. The stem growth curve in a was used to simulate the crown development shown in b; c and d, e and f, and g and h are related analogously. The inscriptions reflect some main characteristics of the stem growth (d, rdmdc, cvid) and the crown (th, cvcrad), respectively
