Abstract

The distribution of manganese and oxygen between molten iron and FeO-MnO-SiO2 slags not saturated with SiO2 bas been determined and used to calculate activities of MnO and SiO2 in MnO-SiO2 slags. These were found to be intermediate between the corresponding activities in FeO-SiO2 and CaO-SiO2 slags.
