Abstract
Permanent, plastic elongation of about 0.1 pet is shown almost to double the 60-cycle watt losses of grain oriented 3 pet Si-Fe. Subsequent application of tension in the elastic range is shown to eliminate this loss increase. The domain structures corresponding to these effects have been studied and their interpretation bears out the loss results qualitatively.
