Summary
Optimum conditions have been worked out for the condensation of urea with aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate. 2-Keto-4, 6-diarylhexahydro-s-triazines and 1, 3-bis-(arylidene) ureas have been prepared using eight substituted benzaldehydes in the condensations. Their ultra-violet and infrared absorption data are recorded for characterisation.
