Abstract

The effects of process history on the properties and microstructure of wrought Waspaloy have been investigated. Forge practice is shown to be critical if the forging temperature exceeds theγ′ solution temperature. A light reduction at high temperatures decreases fracture ductility as evaluated by impact, tensile and rupture tests. The most significant microstructural feature is the formation of MC carbide boundary films.
